About this event

On a daily basis, our data is shared in various ways such as in applications, when we interact among other ways. However, is the safety or protection of our data guaranteed? Do you think we can improve the privacy and protection of data using APIs?

That is what this hackathon aims to tackle. We will be using the API knowledge to find better ways and avenues to improve and reinforce data privacy and protection measures.

This hackathon is designed to enable ladies and all attendees to build on their API skill better, as well as apply the knowledge in real-life data protection scenarios. The attendees have a chance to engage their problem-solving skills by applying solutions to real-life problems in data privacy that they have encountered, or gaps they have seen in data protection. By building scalable solutions, the attendees have a better understanding of API use and become problem-solvers.

Using Africastalking APIs, participants will be able to brainstorm solutions tailored for them, and use the industry best practices to bring scalable and applicable solutions to life. Throughout the hackathon, participants will have access to experts who will provide guidance and support as they develop their solutions. The hackathon will conclude in a pitching session where participants will present their solutions to everyone, who will evaluate and provide feedback on the projects.

Join us and let us build scalable solutions.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Reinforcement of data protection measures using APIs
  • New data protection mechanisms using APIs to solve existing gaps
