Key Focus Areas:
Satellite Communication and Remote Sensing: Build platforms that visualize, analyze, or distribute satellite data for use in agriculture, climate monitoring, disaster response, and urban planning.
Aerospace Navigation and Tracking Systems: Create real-time tracking tools for drones, aircraft, or weather balloons using GPS and communication APIs for flight data and ground communication.
Space Education and Outreach: Design engaging learning platforms or gamified experiences that introduce students and communities to space science, astronomy, and aerospace careers.
Ground Control and Telemetry Interfaces: Develop lightweight tools that simulate or assist in managing communication between ground stations and aerial or orbital devices.
Emergency Communication Systems: Use SMS and USSD to create robust communication networks for use in remote, high-altitude, or low-connectivity environments like mountaineering or space missions.
Women in Aerospace Innovation: Build platforms that spotlight and connect women involved in aerospace, from engineers to scientists, promoting mentorship, collaboration, and visibility.
Solution Criteria:
Use of Africa's Talking APIs: How effectively the project utilizes one or more of the Africa's Talking APIs i.e. SMS, USSD, Airtime, Voice, Insights, Chat.
Innovation: The originality and creativity of the project idea and implementation.
User Experience: How well the project meets user needs and provides an intuitive and seamless experience.
Functionality: How well the project performs the intended functionality and handles errors and edge cases.
Presentation: The clarity and effectiveness of the project demonstration and pitch.
The winning solution will receive cash prizes as follows:
Winner - $100
