Africa's Talking Open Community
AI is changing how we build software. Join us at Africa’s Talking Kampala for a deep dive into AI-assisted coding, clean architecture, and writing reliable code in the age of Cursor, Codex, and Claude. Featuring Ernest Okot, this session explores how developers stay relevant and build quality in the AI era.

Software development has changed.
We no longer just Google errors — we prompt LLMs. We don’t only read documentation — we ask AI to explain it. Today, developers are using AI agents directly inside their IDEs like Cursor, Windsurf, Google’s Antigravity, OpenAI Codex, Claude Code, and more to plan systems, write features, and refactor entire codebases.
But with this shift comes big questions:
Are developers becoming more productive — or more dependent?
How do we avoid AI-generated “slop” that introduces security risks and bad architecture?
What does clean, reliable software look like in the era of AI-assisted coding?
How do developers stay relevant and competitive in this new world?
To unpack these questions, we’re hosting a deep-dive session with Ernest Okot, a seasoned senior software developer who will contextualize these changes and share practical guidance on building high-quality systems in the AI era.
If you're building software today, this conversation is for you.
