About this event

Join us as we host 2 awesome speakers namely Riyaz Bachani and Jimmy Gitonga.

Riyaz Bachani has been building networks in East Africa for the past 15+ years. Riyaz is the CEO at Angani Ltd, a cloud services provider in Africa. He was previously the founding CTO of 2 very successful telecom ventures Wananchi Group the first triple-play company in Africa, and Kenya Data Networks (now Liquid Telecom). Riyaz was the initial founder of skunkworks which was part of the initial iHub community in 2010. He is also one of the pioneers in cloud computing in Kenya.

Jimmy Gitonga is the Principal at Afroshok as well as the Customer Relations Lead at Red Afro. He is a multi-faceted "artist", who can create design and develop content for any digital medium. Today, he runs a design and development studio, where he brings more than 20+ years of digital media to bear, offering a "360˚" Digital Design and Development service, from Brand Development to Web Applications hosted in different Cloud environments. He is a co-founder of ARK Africa, a successful brand and Interactive design agency in Kenya. While at iHub, he enjoyed the creation of software user groups that allowed developers to access specific corporate partners such as Google, Microsoft, Oracle, and Facebook among others. Today, he is happy to note that those we worked with then are now leading the developer communities as these tech companies open “developer centres” in Kenya.
