Africa’s Talking, in collaboration with Google, proudly introduces LaunchPad: Generative AI + APIs for Innovation; a transformative developer journey designed to elevate technical talent across Sub-Saharan Africa.

This launch event serves as your official onboarding: a step-by-step guide to what is expected, how the program is structured, and how to properly set up for Module One and beyond.

During this launch session, we will:

• Introduce the full 10-module curriculum and capstone journey.

• Clarify roles, expectations, and timelines for all participants across Africa.

• Walk through Module One readiness: ensuring every participant is fully set up with the required tools and accounts.

• Explain how to access resources, assignments, and collaboration channels.

This immersive program blends:

• Google Cloud’s Generative AI capabilities, and

• Africa’s Talking APIs for communication, payments, and data solutions

Participants will progress from foundational knowledge to advanced API integration, AI frameworks, and offline-ready applications — building real-world, deployable projects ready for portfolio and production.

By completion, participants will:

✔ Build hands-on assignments

✔ Collaborate with a Pan-African tech community

✔ Deliver a capstone project integrating Generative AI and APIs

Pre-Requisites – Setup Before Module One

To ensure a smooth start, all participants must complete the following:

Technical Foundations

• Basic programming skills: Python, Node.js, or Java

• Basic understanding of LLMs vs. AI Agents

• Familiarity with Cloud Computing Concepts

Account Setup

• Create a Google Developer Profile (for badges & credentials)

• Set up Google Cloud Console (access to AI tools)

• Create an Africa’s Talking Developer Account (API access)
