The Africa’s Talking Open Hackathon is an immersive, innovation-driven event that brings together developers, engineers, and tech enthusiasts to build groundbreaking construction technology (ConTech) solutions. The construction industry is ripe for digital transformation with the growing demand for smart infrastructure, safety, and efficient project management. This hackathon provides a unique opportunity for participants to develop innovative applications using Africa’s Talking APIs to enhance construction workflows, safety protocols, and communication across teams and sites.
The focus of this hackathon is to bridge the gap between the construction sector and digital communication, empowering developers to create solutions that improve site safety, optimize project timelines, and foster real-time collaboration. Participants will leverage Africa’s Talking tools, collaborate on real-world construction challenges, and develop applications that streamline operations and improve outcomes in the construction, engineering, and real estate sectors.
This event is not just about coding; it is about building impactful, real-world construction tech solutions. Developers, innovators, and ConTech enthusiasts will collaborate, prototype, and deploy functional solutions that leverage Africa’s Talking’s robust APIs for enhanced efficiency and communication in construction projects.

Africa's Talking powers communications solutions across Africa with simplified access to telco infrastructure, developers use our powerful SMS, USSD, Voice, Airtime, and Payments APIs to bring their ideas to life, as they build and sustain scalable businesses.
Agenda (Standard Hackathon):
1. Warm-Up
2. Building/hacking: Code in GitHub/GitLab/BitBucket and deploy in Docker/Automated CI/Travis CI/Bamboo
Upon commit, the repository is built and deployed to an accessible web server or an S3 bucket.
3. Demonstration and Wrap-up
