Join us at our open hackathon every last Thursday of the month. Build with us, present feature requests, give feedback or contribute to our open-source API and SDKs. THEME: Clean Energy Reduce carbon emissions, through clean energy and impact the environment positively. Get your ticket, let us exchange knowledge, and best practices, submit feature requests, and innovate.

About this event

The adoption of technology in clean energy will not only make it more accessible, and create awareness but it will propel adoption and implementation in the otherwise unreachable stakeholders.

Africa's Talking and Elarian through its 2G technology and data intermediary solution have revolved around reducing carbon footprint, out of all the benefited sectors from technology adoption, clean energy tech will enable the last mile knowledge, enabling and implementation of clean energy.

During this hackathon, we invite software engineers and clean energy providers to come and explore how to incorporate mobile 2G technology (SMS, Voice, and USSD) and data intermediary solutions to improve the quality of clean energy implementation.

The winning solution will receive cash prizes as follows:

1. Winner - $100

2. 1st Runners Up - $50

3. 2nd Runners Up - $25

Elarian: Build Responsibly, Protect Customer Data.

Elarian is a customer engagement framework (Customer Data Platform) that helps you build robust applications with the customer as the unit of abstraction. Elarian features robust capability in handling end to end of customer data.

Africa's Talking powers communications solutions across Africa with simplified access to telco infrastructure, developers use our powerful SMS, USSD, Voice, Airtime, and Payments APIs to bring their ideas to life, as they build and sustain scalable businesses.

2. Building/hacking: Code in GitHub/GitLab/BitBucket and deploy in Docker/Automated CI/Travis CI/Bamboo

Note: This section needs additional setup.

Upon commit, the repository is built and deployed to an accessible web server or an S3 bucket.

3. Demonstration and Wrap-up

Teams or individuals will demo what they have hacked for feedback or adoption.
