Curious about how to utilise APIs in the Education sector?
We are excited to announce the EduTech Hackathon, a one-day event focused on leveraging technology to revolutionise education on the 22nd of July 2023 at Africa's Talking Uganda HQ located at Acacia Place building. The hackathon revolves around the theme of Education Technology (EduTech), which is a broad and relevant area to apply the best solutions using Africa's Talking APIs.

Pitching Ideas: Participants will have the opportunity to pitch their innovative ideas centred around the theme of education, showcasing their creativity and problem-solving skills.
Hacking and Demos: Teams or individuals will work on developing their solutions using Africa's Talking SMS, USSD, Voice, and Airtime and Data APIs. They will have dedicated time to create their prototypes and will demo their solutions for feedback and potential adoption.
Cash Prizes and Giveaways: The winning solution will receive a cash prizes as shared in the description below. Additionally, there will be exclusive prizes and giveaways for attendees.
The winning solution will receive cash prizes as follows:
Elarian: Build Responsibly, Protect Customer Data.
Elarian is a customer engagement framework (Customer Data Platform) that helps you build robust applications with the customer as the unit of abstraction. Elarian features robust capability in handling end to end of customer data.
Africa's Talking powers communications solutions across Africa with simplified access to telco infrastructure, developers use our powerful SMS, USSD, Voice, Airtime, and Payments APIs to bring their ideas to life, as they build and sustain scalable businesses.

2. Building/hacking: Code in GitHub/GitLab/BitBucket and deploy in Docker/Automated CI/Travis CI/Bamboo

Upon commit, the repository is built and deployed to an accessible web server or an S3 bucket.
3. Demonstration and Wrap-up
Teams or individuals will demo what they have hacked for feedback or adoption.
